A work of architecture that I would like to experience in person.
While modern architecture prioritises fluidity, Gothic design values precision and nowhere is this more evident than at Cologne Cathedral. The cathedral's forest of spires and pinnacles creates a vertical pattern that appears to reach the skies, and its delicate stone lines demonstrates gothic workmanship. It is astonishing that this masterpiece built over six centuries yet standing defiant through wars. To witness this harmony of contrasts is to understand how stone can express both permanence and transcendence.
